Join the South Dakota Peace and Justice Center

If you like, you can join us: print out the Membership Form, fill it in, and mail it to:

The South Dakota Peace and Justice Center
    PO Box 116
    Sioux Falls, SD 57101

The South Dakota Peace and Justice Center is a member-supported organization in the truest sense of the word. More than 80% of our income is derived from members and friends. Our members come from faith communities and rural or reservation areas. They are not, as a rule, wealthy. Our yearly dues of $25 are waived in the case of financial hardship. If you can afford to make a contribution, you will support advocacy for those who live their values and must, or choose to, live frugally.

Members:

  • Guide the Center in defining the positions we take and the coalitions we form.
  • Participate in grassroots activist campaigns, which may include writing letters to their newspapers, holding educational meetings for their communities, hosting rallies, vigils, or marches, contacting public officials, or circulating petitions.
  • Elect a Board of Directors from a slate of nominees.

If you hunger and thirst for justice' sake, you are invited to become a member of SD Peace & Justice Center. No one person has all the answers. Let us join hands and seek the answers together.

Wherever practical, members organize into local Peace and Justice Chapters. Members:

  • Elect a statewide Board of Directors for the Center's decision making
  • Raise awareness locally about peace and justice issues
  • Participate in grassroots activist campaigns.

Center members statewide are served from an office staffed by a full time director.
